For Curious Weeds, a summer fragrance made from wild flowers. Capturing the essence.
This collaborative project blossomed over lockdown 2022 when the weather was beautiful and we could only go out to walk. I teamed up with two friends, John Foley and Tammy Burnstock. We dreamt up this idea for fragrance together, Tammy put it down into story form, John created it with natural flower scents and I animated it... We put all three of our talents together and now a few lucky people own the prized scent...
Tammy says "We were intrigued by the audacity of weeds claiming forgotten crevices, ancient trees surprising with unseasonal blooms, and vines persistently seeking the embrace of the sun. In isolation, we discovered a heightened appreciation for life’s unrestrained fervour."
The fragrance composed by Foley is an olfactory imprint of a summer’s day 'a potpourri of sweet champaca lilies, invigorating hysope mint, French lavender’s serenity, soothing chamomile, with whispers of geranium rose. Its soul is grounded with wooden resins, spikenard, and the verdant embrace of a rain-kissed violet leaf.'
