I've animated Josephine Baker's  dances from the 20s and 30s on film with pencil and paper. I'm fascinated by how she developed her own abstract improvised form of dance.

Her turns fill the stage with energy and I've been inspired to try to do the same with paint.

...to give movement and energy to line and shape and colour. To mix figurative and abstract.
