Serenade was painted with sumi ink on rice paper. A love story set in New York City.

Winner of numerous awards including the Asifa East Charles Samu Award for a film that communicates across all cultures without the need for words.

It also won an audience prize at the Ann Arbour Film festival and first prize Black Maria Directors Choice award.

I worked on this film for about two years, in between other projects. I filmed it in my living room and it ended up travelling to film festivals all over the world and screened on national public television.  MOMA purchased a copy for their own picture library.
